Admission Eligibility Criteria
The candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in the year of admission will be considered for provisional admission based on the submission of transcripts of their 11th standard and the first semester of their 12th standard (if issued) duly certified by their school authorities. All such candidates will be required to produce proof of having passed the qualifying examination (12th standard or equivalent) by 30th October 2025, failing which the admission will stand cancelled.
The age of candidates seeking admission should be preferably below 25 years as of 01 January 2025. So, only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 01 January 2000 are eligible to apply. The date of birth as recorded in the 10th or 12th standard certificate, issued by the Board/Examination Authority, will be taken as authentic. Candidates must produce this certificate in original as proof of their age at the time of admission/counselling.
Domestic Indian Candidates
- 10 + 2 in Science Streams with a minimum of 60% (cumulative) and any one of the following:
- Valid Score/Rank in National/State Level Entrance (i.e., JEE (Advanced/Main), NEET, CUET, BITSAT, KVPY/NTSE/INSPIRE scholarship holders, State Entrance Examinations) or a Valid score in International Entrance Test: US (SAT-I/SAT-II), UK (BMAT) otherwise candidates have to qualify the IITP-SAT Entrance Exam conducted by IIT Patna.
- BS (Lateral Entry in 4th Year): Only students from IITP who have completed a BSc (CSDA) degree with at least 50% marks or an equivalent CGPA are eligible.
International Candidates
- Eligibility for Application under Direct Admission of Foreign and NRI Students (DAFS) category For admissions into the B.Sc./BS-MS programs, the following categories of applicants will be considered as non-resident Indians:
- Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Card holders.
- Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) Card Holders.
- Certificates of Non-Resident Indian issued by the Indian Embassy/Indian Consulate of the Country where the Non-Resident Indian is residing.
- Passport of an applicant indicating his status as 'Non-Resident Indian.
- Persons who have studied outside India and have passed either 10th or 12th standard (or must be appearing for the examination in the year of admission) or equivalent from any system of education subject to the eligibility criteria stipulated below.
- Either of the parents of the applicant residing abroad and submits documentary proof that he/she is a non-resident Indian (e.g., NRI bank account in India or letter from the Indian Embassy/Consulate). The NRI status should be valid until 1st August in the year of admission.
- Foreign Nationals (FN): A person having citizenship of a foreign country (citizens other than India) and not having the status of "NRI.”
- 1. Candidates must have passed or appeared in the qualifying examination, i.e., a higher secondary school examination or equivalent from any recognized board of their country with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry/Computer Science/Biotechnology/Biology for BSc/BSMS. The admission eligibility is minimum of 60% (cumulative) or its equivalence CGPA/CPI (e.g., 6.5 CPI on a 10-point scale) with:
- Valid score in International Entrance Test: US (SAT-I/SAT-II), UK (BMAT) OR
- 2. The school examination certificate must be equivalent to the Class 12 school examination in India, and the candidates are required to submit an equivalence certificate for the examination passed and the grade/percentage of marks obtained.

Campus Immersion*
The Campus immersion is a multi-faceted opportunity for students registered UG/PG
under Hybrid mode of instruction wherein they get opportunity to:

(b) End Semester exam in physical mode,
